Salt is located at the exterior doors (scoop included there)

Uh oh... someone dropped their coffee. How should you clean this up?
Using towels or mop clean up the spillage, and place a caution sign around the area for safety.
Someone slipped and fell. What should you do? Where is the first aid item located?
Assess the severity of the injury, if minor, provide first aid assistance. If major, call 911 or see if they have someone to take them to the hospital.
Do not escalate the situation, call campus police.
What is one thing you should ALWAYS do when anything happens in the building?
Report it in the BM document.
It rained overnight and water is pouring out in the mechanical room by 211, what do you do?
Alter the full-time staff and mention it in the report. Contact facilities if it is urgent.
Someone dropped their coffee again, this time it was a glass cup. What do you do?
Clean it up as best you can, and be aware to not cut yourself on accident. If you cannot handle the situation, contact custodial.
You suspect that someone may be overdosing. Where is the Narcan located?
Gas Leak, what should you do?
Pull the fire alarm and call campus security. Leave the building immediately.
There is a giant snowstorm overnight, classes are canceled, will the DUC be open?
Yes, the DUC will remain open even when classes and other activities are canceled. Come to work!
The fire alarm is going off, what do you do?
The toilet in the 3rd floor bathroom is overflowing, what do you do?
Contact custodial if this happens during the week. In not, call Kyle.

The first floor by the bathrooms, in case by RHA, the third floor.

A severe weather statement has been released, everyone needs to take cover due to a potential tornado. Where should people go in the DUC? (name 3).
Biological matter accident. How do you clean this up?
Retrieve the biohazard bag and clean it up from room 221. If you cannot, then you should contact custodial.
A building Patron passes out. What should you do?
Call 911 and campus security. Alert building patrons to move away from the scene.

The elevator is malfunctioning and there are patrons trapped in there, what do you do?
Instruct them to press the call button if they have not already. Call campus police. Explain the situation and talk to them so they remain calm (this is important). Stay with them until help arrives.
The power goes out, what do you do? Where are the flashlights?
Call the full-time supervisor, ensure nobody is in the elevator, and await further instructions.
Flashlights are located in the file cabinet by the BM desk.
There is water leaking from the ceiling which has created a large puddle in the dining area. What do you do?
Grab a bucket from the custodial closets to place under the leak, clean up the spill (if too big contact custodial), notify full-time supervisors or the student manager, and report it in the BM report.

3rd-floor loop, RHA Office, by the elevator by dining and all-gender bathroom, the dining locker room area.
Someone calls the UIT desk with a bomb threat. How will this be handled?
Do not hang up the phone, if possible record the call with another phone, write down every detail, call campus security, do not put yourself in danger or escalate the situation, and fill out the bomb threat form.
What should you do if you need to leave your shift early because you are sick or you cannot come in?
If you need to leave early, contact the student manager and bring the phone to admin for holding.
If you are sick and nobody can cover your shift, contact the student manager.
