Who is allowed to administer medication at Adventure Camp?
The Camp Health Supervisor is the only staff member allowed to give medication (if the camper has given us written permission). No one else on staff is allowed to give any medication, including Tylenol and Advil.

What do you do if you hear thunder in the distance?
If you hear more than one thunder bolt, all campers and staff should get out of the water, out of boats and down from the high ropes course.
Call the director for further weather instructions or go to pre-assigned lightning area if a storm is coming.

What do you do if a camper does not show up in the morning?
Tell the director. He will check to see if they are coming that day.

Each swimmer has a "buddy" pair
Counselors will check “buddies” in and out of the water.
Every 10 minutes, lifeguards will whistle for a buddy check to make sure all buddies are accounted for.
What steps need to be taken after an injury?
• Evaluate the scene
• Evaluate the Injury
• If an emergency, contact GOPO Emergency Line
• If a non-emergency, retrieve closest first aid kit
• Clean and treat injury to your ability level
• Document the injury and treatment

If your camper feels sick, what should you do?
Have them rest if it is mild near your activity or at the office. They can return to participate in the activities or we can contact their family to be picked up early.
If campers are experiencing flu like symptoms, we will contact their family to have them picked up.
