What is the word order rule in Spanish that explains why it's "el vestido rojo" and not "el rojo vestido"?

Why is it "la gorra amarilla" instead of "la gorra amarillo"? Why does the color change the last letter?
Because "la gorra" ends with an A, so the color has to too. "La gorra" is feminine, so the adjective also needs to be feminine.
