Asking before you touch someone.

Staying in eyesight of staff/adult.
What is trauma?
Trauma is when something scary, confusing, or hurtful happens.
What is a physical boundary?
When someone stands too close, touches you without permission, or grabs you.
What is crossing a boundary?
Taking staff snacks without permission.
What is dangerous and breaks safety rules?
Unsafe

Using my cool-down plan before I explode.
What are trauma triggers?
Heart beating fast, sweating, pacing.
What is an emotional boundary?
A: When someone yells at you, pressures you, or tries to control how you feel.

A: Saying “I need space” when overwhelmed.

A: Grabbing someone from behind.
What is body safety?
A: No one can touch your private areas or ask to see them.
What are examples of trauma?
Seeing violence, being yelled at constantly, or being touched inappropriately.
What is a digital boundary?
Not sharing passwords or personal pictures.
What is unsafe even if I don’t mean harm?
Jumping on staff or punching “playfully.”
What is a game I must ASK permission before doing?
Playing tag or wrestling.
What is a safe adult?
An adult who listens and helps when things get unsafe.

A: Knowing when it's the right time to joke, play, or be serious.

A: Understanding some people like playful jokes and others do NOT.
What is crossing a verbal boundary?
Using inappropriate language even if “I’m playing.”

When a peer or adult asks you to keep a “secret” that makes you uncomfortable.
