BGCA

A time at the end of the day when there are no programs being ran and kids can do their own games and activities.

Free Time

200

This is an activity that a staff member will start with a group of kids but is designed for the staff member to eventually step away from and let the kids continue playing on their own so the staff can deal with other issues.

Self - Lead Activity

This is a website staff can use as a resource for programs, trainings and other useful information.

Anything that belongs to the club that club members use when participating in a program, activity, or free time.

24 Hour Role Model

A set series of activities and lessons that build off each other, where club members learn new skills and traits that will help them reach their full potential

Program

400

An event we have throughout the day where all club members (except for those in the teen room) go to the gym to listen to the staff say what they are doing for the day as well as listen to any announcements for the entire club to know.

Assembly

400

NEVER SAY: WE CAN’T FIND <child’s name> when speaking over the walkie-talkies. Try to keep your conversations as simple as possible and try to not give details over the walkie-talkies, if necessary call your manager on the club phone, or your personal cell phone is you need to give more information.

Walkie - Talkie Etiquette

500

This can be a game, contest, field trip ect. that will usually last for one day and is used as a part of a program but is not a program in and of itself.

Activity

500

It does not matter if you are the best staff in the world and always treats the kids and fellow staff members with the highest degree of respect if in one moment a parent, club member, or fellow staff see you in a moment where you are not at your best. Once that reputation is gone it takes a very long road to get it back and in some instances, it is never fully recovered. What parents see, what the kids see is the truth, even is the “truth” is farthest from reality.

Perception is Reality

500

Walkie-talkie’s are a major way we use to communicate with each other and there are codes we use when you are in need of management assistance.
