Sage:used for smudging, ceremonies, and teachings. is used for releasing what is troubling the mind and for removing negative energy. It is also used for cleansing homes and sacred items. 

Cedar:The spiritual meaning of cedar is protection, wisdom and strength. May be used during fasting, sweat lodge, and other ceremonies

Sweetgrass: believed to invite the good spirits and sweet dispositions. It is often burned at the beginning of a prayer or ceremony to attract positive energies. 

Saskatoon Berry: The fruit is used in soups, stews, meat dishes, pemmican and dried cakes. Saskatoon berry juice is used to cure stomach ailments, and is a mild laxative. The juice is also used to make eye drops and eardrops. Arrows and pipes can be made from the stems of the saskatoon berry. 

Rat Root:  fighting off colds, coughs, upset stomachs and fevers. 

BearBerry: is smoked in a sacred pipe, carrying the smoker’s prayers to the Great Spirit. It is also made into a tea to treat inflammation of the urinary tract, kidney stones, back sprains and other infections.
