What is the cerebral cortex?
Located in the occipital lobe, I can coordinate your movements but only if you want me to, it is said that I can contribute to your emotions.
What is the cerebellum?
Located in the middle of the brain, I am a large band of neural fibers, I am the gateway between the two hemispheres, and I mediate communication and coordination between them.
What is the corpus callosum?
Located in the brain's center, I relay important information while receiving it. I am the phrase “whatever helps you sleep at night”
What is the thalamus?
Located in the brain's center, this part of the brain regulates body temperature, hunger, thirst, sleep, and hormone release
What is the hypothalamus?
You touched a hot stove. Ouch! But I commanded your hand to move it from the heat. I branch off from your brain and am responsible for your movements. When the doctor hits your knee, I signal the reflex.
What is the spinal cord?
Little Timmy is playing Fortnite when he suddenly gets eliminated by another player across the map. Something in the center of his brain decides to throw his controller at the TV, destroying the screen.
What is the amygdala?
Little Timmy is still wide awake and alert doing his AP Psychology project at 3am thanks to this part of the brain that still controls his consciousness, he can lock in and finish it. What part of the brain allowed him to do so?
What is the reticular formation?
A boxer is getting ready for his match, he processes his coach's instructions due to this particular part of his brain (located on the sides of his head). However, his opponent is targeting that specific part of his head to attempt to knock him out.
What is the temporal lobe?
Little Timmy was a tattletale who told on Billy the Bully. Out of revenge, Billy the Bully pushed Little Timmy, causing him to trip and hit his head on the floor. After the incident, Little Timmy's speech was impaired and he could never tattletale again.
What is the broca's area?
Max Verstappen is sitting in pole position in the Monaco Grand Prix. As he sits in his car, this area of the brain in the back of his head is processing the information from the lights in front of him, waiting for all of them to go out. If this were damaged, he would not be able to see the lights at all and likely would be medically disqualified from the race.

Elmo is going to bed after a long day of fun on Sesame Street. He then gets up bright and early the next morning to have fun all over again! Located in the hypothalamus, this part of the brain is responsible for making sure he goes to bed and gets up when he does.
What is the suprachiasmatic nucleus?
The bridge between the brain and the spinal cord, this part of the brain is responsible for making sure that you're alive while asleep. If damaged, you may start seeing demons (or in other words, hallucinations).
What is the pons?
For the upcoming F1 movie, Brad Pitt has to learn how to properly drive and control an F1 car. Through repeated practice over the course of many months, he is able to drive it for sustained periods of time while he is filming. Located in the center of the brain, this part is what makes him responsible for learning and executing this task. This is what's called muscle memory.

This part of the brain, located in the back of the head and part of the neck, was heavily damaged by the crash. Fortunately, he was able to recover from the accident but as a result, his breathing was impaired giving him respiratory problems.

As Chris walks home from school , he sees a someone walking their dog. Due to seeing the dog, Chris recalls the time he was attacked by a dog when was three. Because he saw the dog, Chris freezes and his heart starts pounding, and his breathing becomes heavy. This emotional response is due to the brain system located in beneath the cerebral cortex which ultimately initiated the survival instincts response
What is the limbic system?
You are invited to a party where you know there will be drugs and alcohol. Your friend is peer pressuring you to try the white substance known as cocaine. You take it for the first time, your brain on cloud 9. Out of impulse, this part of your brain located outside the temporal lobe fiends for that substance, unable to get enough of it.
What is the nucleus accumbens?
Usain Bolt is sprinting in the 100m dash. As he runs, this part of the brain located in the brain stem delivers information to the heart, letting it know to increase its rate and to start pumping more blood. It also lets the lungs know that it needs to begin pumping for more air.
What is the medulla?
While preparing for an in class debate on whether or not the Aztecs or Mayans were the better civilization, Little Timmy organizes all of his notes the night before the debate. During the debate, he listens carefully to his opponent, processing their arguments. Because he was able to comprehend and process their language and choice of arguments, Timmy was able to logically debunk his opponents points. After the debate, he later extended out his hand to shake his opponents. These functions are caused by an area in the left side of your brain.
What is the left hemisphere?
Tom Brady is playing at quarterback for the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Down by 25 points, he is thinking tactically about how he and the rest of the offense should put up as many points on the board as they possibly can. Using this specific area of the brain, he is able to make decisions to properly execute and organize a game plan to come back from their deficit. If he were a teenager, this part of the brain would not be fully formed for him to figure out what to do.
