Your stepdad tells you to make sure the dog is taken care of when you get home from school at 4:30PM.
No one has been home since the morning, and your siblings and stepdad don't get home until about 8PM tonight.  Break down what you might need to do to take care of your dog tonight.

You got permission from your Mom last week to go to youth group with your friend tonight.  You've never been to this youth group, but it sounds really fun!  Only thing is.... you forgot to arrange for a way to get there.  You forgot to ask your Mom to take you at the time, and she wouldn't be able to anyway - she has to take the car to pick up your little brother from soccer practice at that time.  List at least 3 steps you can take to try and make this happen.

Your friend wants you to make a playlist for their party this weekend.  You have the phone numbers of everyone who will be at the party and you're pretty good friends with most of them.  You're not really sure what the vibe of the party is supposed to be, but you know there will be at least 15 people there.  You know what music YOU like, but you're not so sure about what would make a good playlist for this party.

List at least 4 steps you could take to make sure you end up making a great playlist that everyone is happy with.

Great news!  You just won two tickets to your DREAM CONCERT!  The concert is on a Saturday a month from now.  You know you want to take your best friend, because you two have been listening to this band for years.  You don't have extra money for a ride share and neither does your friend.  List at least 3 things you need to do or arrange to make it to this concert.

You've got a sub for math today.  How old is this guy, 100?  He mumbles to himself and seems sleepy - at one point when he's quietly sitting at his desk it looks like he nods off.  It's pretty clear that you're not gonna learn anything from him today.  And actually, that kind of sucks because next class there's a test, and it would have really helped you out to be able to get some questions answered about last night's homework.  Now you're feeling uneasy about the test, because you counted on your teacher being here and he's not.  And this teacher is NOT the kind to postpone a test (not for a natural disaster, not for the rapture, not for anything...). You want to make good use of this class time to find a way to feel better prepared for this test.  List at least 4 things you can try so that you feel more confident about your ability to do well on this test before the end of the class period.

You're watching your little sister on a Friday night while your parents are out on a date at Olive Garden.   Not exactly how you'd hoped to spend your Friday night, but at least they're paying you.  And they always bring you home some breadsticks.. which is something to look forward to, at least.

Your parents told you to have her in bed by 8PM and it's now 7:30.

Break down the task of getting your sister ready for bed into at least 5 smaller steps.

HOCO is in one month and you can't WAIT!  You've got a date lined up and everything!  The only thing is, you don't have a dress yet.  You've had your eye on one at the mall but don't have any money right now.  You remember your neighbor mentioning something about babysitting at one point...

Unfortunately, you don't drive yet and neither does your date.

List at least 5 steps you would take to make sure you got to prom on time in the dress you wanted.

Great news!  Your gymnastics team is travelling out of state for nationals!  Looks like you're going to... wait.. what?  Spokane, Washington?  Who would want to go there?
Ugh, well here's what you know: it's November, and it looks like you can expect the weather in that area to be pretty gloomy for most of your trip. At least the hotel you're staying at has a pool, and you do love to swim.

It's your job to figure out meals on your own while you're on this trip.  You'll be spending hours in a charter bus to get there, so things could get pretty boring...

List at least 6 things you will want to pack for this trip and explain why.

(NOTE: you can't include obvious travel items like a toothbrush or clean underwear!  Think about things relevant to this story!)

It's crunch time!  You're in the last 3 weeks of school before summer break!  Here is what's on your "to do" list:

1. You have 4 missing assignments from English.  The assignments are all the same: to annotate a part of The Great Gatsby.  You can turn these in on Google Classroom.  They are due any time before the last day of school and they're worth 10 points each, but since they're late you will only get half credit at most (5 out of 10 points).

2. There is a BIG marching band competition tomorrow.  You play percussion and you probably should have practiced a little more, because you're not sure you have all the music memorized.  Your teacher has been on your case a lot lately about not remembering your music, and the other students are really hoping to make it into the top 3 so they can win an award.  You get a good grade just for participating, and it's the last competition of the season.

3. You have a final in AP Psychology in 1 week (NOT the actual AP test).  It is a cumulative test, meaning that it covers all of the material you've learned throughout the entire semester.  The weight of the final is .50.  You're pretty good at psychology and feel okay about the final coming up, but you have a D in the class right now.  If you fail this test, you'll definitely fail the class, and you NEED this credit to graduate (it's your senior year!).  If you do really well on this test, you could actually end up with a low B as your final grade.

Your task is:
Break each of these into 3-5 smaller steps.

AND

Prioritize the order of importance.

Tonight is a big family dinner! Your auntie, uncle, your favorite cousin, and your grandma are coming over for spaghetti and meatballs tonight.  Your parents are going to cook dinner tonight, but they're counting on  you to get the house in shape before company comes over later.  You have 5 hours.  You expect that your family will stay for at least 5 hours, if not more.  Here's what the house looks like:
1. There's one bathroom, and it's NASTY.  Like, you don't even want to go in there if you're being honest.  It's kind of smelly and looks as bad as it smells.

2. Your room is a hot mess.  You've been meaning to get around to cleaning it for a while, but you've just been busy with other stuff.  There are piles of clothes on the floor, old food wrappers on your nightstand.  Yikes.

3. The kitchen is spotless.  You'll need to get the table set up at some point before the family gets here, though.  Looks like you'll have to search the house for two extra chairs at some point too.

4. The living room is decent, but it's kind of dusty and there are a lot of things out of place.  You know from past family gatherings that the living room is usually the place where your family spends the most time during family gatherings.  Might need a quick vacuum but otherwise the floor doesn't look too bad.. except.. OH NO!  Your puppy had an accident on the carpet right in the middle of the room.  That's gross.

Your job is to:

1. Create a "to do" list of at least 8 tasks to complete before family dinner tonight, and

2. Prioritize what order you will do these tasks and explain what order you choose to do things

You have never planned a surprise party before, but this year it's your best friend's sweet 16.  You and a lot of friends are excited to try to throw an amazing surprise party for them, and you volunteered to plan everything.  Good news: your friends and their parents/guardians are feeling generous, and each of them gives you $10 to go towards the party.  You have a total of $150!  You've got 2 weeks before your friend's birthday.   List at least 7 smaller tasks you will need to do in order to ensure this birthday party goes smoothly.

It's closing night of the school musical.  You've pulled it off, you've already performed 3 other nights of Into The Woods and you're crushing it.  AND this year, you are the stage manager!  It's 60 minutes until curtain, and you're backstage with your cast.  You haven't gotten into costume or makeup yet because you just arrived.  Suddenly, you hear a yelp from the green room - when you turn around you see that your friend accidentally cut themselves on a metal prop.  The cut is on their thumb and looks pretty small, but it seems to be bleeding quite profusely and they're looking a little queasy (this friend HATES blood).  Just then, your director comes into the room and said Katelyn (who plays Cinderella) hasn't arrived yet, and she should have been here by now.  As you're about to go towards your injured friend to help, another cast member loudly says, "Hey, what happened to my costume?"  It looks like somehow there is a big rip in the dress that is very noticeable and you don't know of any alternative costume the person could wear instead.  Write down AND prioritize at least 10 things you need to do before the play begins to make sure everything goes smoothly and everyone ends up where they need to be before curtain.
