What happens when we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us?
We can turn the whole animal

Where will you find disorder and every evil practice?
Where you have envy and selfish ambition
To whom does God show favor?
The humble
When will the Lord lift you up?
When you humble yourself before the Lord

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded
Where are ships steered by a very small rudder?
Wherever the pilot wants to go
What cannot produce fresh water?
A salt spring
When should you not boast about it or deny the truth?
If you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts
When you ask, why do you not receive?
Because you ask with the wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures
Who is the one who is able to save and destroy?
The one Lawgiver and Judge

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God's likeness
What are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind?
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures
What should not be?
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing
What is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere?
Wisdom that comes from heaven
Who becomes an enemy of God?
Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world
What does anyone do who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them?
They speak against the law and judge it

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire and is itself set on fire by hell
