No. Staff-to-child ratio must be met at all times whether infants are awake of asleep. Always ask for a manager or peer to step in if you need to leave the room. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Yes. The following items are required to be in the First Aid Kit:

Thermometer, soap, bandages, sterile gauze pads, first aid tape, scissors and disposable gloves.

Can a blanket be placed with a child in a crib or playpen when the child is AWAKE and then the blanket removed when the child falls asleep?

Whether or not a child is awake or asleep, or over 12 months of age, if a blanket is in a crib or a playpen with a child, it MUST be secured as the regulation directs. Also, no soft objects, such as a stuffed animal, are allowed in a crib or playpen with a child, EVER!

No! This violates ours and also DHHS's confidentiality policy. NEVER tell the parent(s) who else was involved in an accident/incident.

When the children of staff are served in a Child Care Center, can the parent approve a discipline that is not allowed in the regulations? For example, can a parent put their child in a room with no other children or staff? Can a parent spank their child?

If the child is enrolled in the Child Care Center, the Center must follow all regulations, including regulations regarding discipline and guidance, even for the children of staff who are employed by the Center.
