How much time is a funding request presentation allowed?
The maximum time a requestor has is fifteen (15) minutes, which includes the actual presentation and any Q&A.

The Student Government Treasurer serves as the Budget & Finance Committee chairperson.

What are the three (3) important deadlines in days in regards to funding requests must a requestor abide by?

1) 45 days- Initial request must be received minimally 45 days prior to event.

2) 30 days- Final budget form, reimbursement form, and/or purchase orders must be received 30 days prior to event

3) 3 days- All receipts must be submitted no later than 3 business days after the event

Why can't RISOs and DIVISIONs sell raffle tickets?
Raffle tickets are considered gambling in Hawaii, hence deemed illegal.

Lexer Chou, the Student Life Coordinator, can advise the committee on any matter that is undefined and/or questionable.

What are the six (6) general steps in making a motion?

1) Member makes initial motion to approve or deny

2) Another member must "second" the motion

3) Chairperson will ask for a "vote"

4) Members can vote: yes, no, or abstain

5) Majority wins and decides if approved or denied

6) Chairperson is tie-breaker

Where does a requestor submit receipts after an event?
No later than 3 business days after an event, receipts are submitted in an envelope notated with the RISO name and date of event to May Lapa in the Student Life Office.

When are reimbursements received?
Because reimbursements are filed on a FIFO (first in, first out) basis to U.H.'s central business office, reimbursements can take as long as 3 months to receive.

Why must a requestor show up at the designated presentation time sent by the chairperson? And what if they don't show?
It is important to show up at the designated time since the Budget & Finance Committee does not meet leisurely, but rather efficiently. By not showing for an appointment, a requestor will be given a 2nd opportunity, in which a 2nd no-show/no-call will result in disqualifying the requestor subsequently for the remainder of the semester.
