What does coming to work prepared look like?
In Dress code, clocked in and ready to go to your group.
We should not be using the bathroom, eating or making personal calls after clocking in.
What does the perfect counselor wear?
Professional dress code, athletic wear is allowed for summer, as well as shorts no more than 2 inches above the knee
What should be set up before hand?
Curriculum should always be set up before the group rotations start.
What can children bring from home?
They can bring a book, themed related items and swim gear on swim days.
No toys or electronics!
When do I need to break?
Within 5 hours after your shift starts
If I'm feeling overwhelmed...I need a quick 5.. connect with the SD to see if someone is able to step in for you.
When anyone walks into our program, what do they want to see?
Engagement, children are having a good time, staff are not sitting by themselves but involved with the children, playing games, participating in group games, etc.
What are the 3 organized activity chooses for outside play?
High, Medium and Low

MYSELF. Please take care of yourself. If you're not having fun the children won't be having fun.

What does the perfect counselor do with their group all day?
They do daily group huddles, go over expectations, do daily curriculum, engage in camp atmosphere, etc.
What are somethings that go into your group kit?
Back pockets games, Blank paper/Coloring sheets, Crayons, Fidget toys, Band-Aids, Instant Ice Pack
Daily Schedules, Group DAQ/Rosters, Half Hour Counts, Weekly Curriculum
How many children should a staff have when taking a group to the bathroom?
Staff should have at least 3 children; many be more if it leave another staff out of ratio.
What do I do if I'm feeling sick?
Call my supervisor at least 2 hours before my shift, if no contact is made I contact my senior, etc.
Where does an Accident/Incident form go after it is filled out by staff?
To the SD to make sure it is completed.
What do I do if my campers are not interested in the activity?
We ask them to try the activity for 5 minutes and i by then they still don't was to give them the option of coloring or reading.
When can you switch a child to another group?
When SD and PD have approved it.
What's the first thing I should do when starting work?
Clock In using ADP!
