What does coming to work prepared look like?

Within 5 Hours of the start of your shift.

When anyone walks into our program, what do they want to see? 

Engagement, children are having a good time, staff are not sitting by themselves but involved with the children, playing games, participating in group games, etc.

Who comes first? 

MYSELF. If you are not having fun because you aren't taking care of yourself the children are not having fun either.

What does the perfect counselor do with their group all day?  

They do daily group huddles, go over expectations, do daily curriculum, engage in camp atmosphere, etc.

What are things that go in the group kits?

Back pocket games, blank/coloring paper, crayons, band-aids and ice pack.

Binder with daily schedule, group daqs/ rosters, half-hour counts and weekly curriculum.

When a staff is taking a group to the restroom how many children should they take?

They should be taking at least 3 children or more to keep other staff in ratio.

What do I do if I'm feeling sick? 

Call my supervisor at least 2 hours before my shift, if no contact is made, I contact my senior, etc.

What do staff do with Accident/Incident form after they fill them out?

Take them to the SD to make sure they are complete.

What do I do if my campers are not interested in the activity? 

 Change up the activity or game. If it is only a couple of children, ask them for 5 minutes and then if they still don't was to participate then give them the choose to color or read.

When can a child switch groups?

When it has been approved by the SD and PD.
