This part of the application allows the application readers to know more about who you are as a person apart from your GPA and test scores.
They are Personal Insight Questions or personal essays.
An outline of the important information about a course, written by the professor.
It is a syllabus.

By consenting to this waiver, you agree to waive your right to see your college recommendation letter which reassures colleges that your recommenders have provided support that is candid and truthful. What is FERPA
This highlights a specific experience from which you've grown/been impacted by in 650 words. It's an opportunity for a college admissions representative to learn about who you are through a story and paints a picture for them.
Personal Statement/College Essay
This part of the application lets the admissions board know how you spent your time outside of school.
It is extra-curricular activities and/or volunteer hours.
