Although, this idea may seem contrary to what this book is training us to do, knowing when to apply this simple, but important technique can keep you and the householder able and willing to converse another time, even if it isn't with each other. It may be necessary to use this technique when the "person is angry, wants to argue, or does not want to talk right now." The best thing to do when using this technique is to end on good terms.

Have you ever gotten in trouble for being a kid sleeping at a meeting? Staying awake until 9:00 or 10:00 PM can be hard. So, imagine staying at a meeting until midnight. Still, you can be sure that I, and the other kids of Troas, don't fall asleep at the meeting anymore, even if it lasts until the next morning. Not since that night when I fell asleep, then fell out a third-story window. Good thing Paul was there. But, I had the worst headache for the rest of the night.
