Must be in activities UNTIL 5:45pm. After, you must bring your kids to 127 and attend cleaning duties.

What are some examples of inappropriate staff member conduct?
1. Behavior towards students: personal life telling, social media, false accusations, negatively speaking about program.
2. Behavior towards teachers: Friendly demeanor, being respectful, any intense problematic issues report to Clae IMMEDIATELY.
3. Behavior towards staff: Be supportive, no gossiping, be respectful, staff must keep staff-related issues private and never discuss them with students.
How do we ensure club cleanliness within our area's? (Lunch tables, P.H. Classrooms, BGC Classroom, Basketball courts, MPR, etc.)
Lunch tables: no leftover trash/spills/crumbs, taking out trash to black bin, picking up items members forgot, etc.
P.H. Classrooms: no trash/crumbs, straightening desks, wiping used whiteboards, etc. You must leave classroom better than you found it even if the mess wasn’t made by you.
BGC Classroom: clearing/wiping down desks, vacuuming, clean/put away dishes, wagons/carts put away, etc. Leave the classroom clean and ready for the next group (morning program).
Basketball Courts: Bringing all materials back in, not leaving trash, making sure the shed is closed/locked properly, left student belongings to lost & found, etc.
MPR: Floors are mess free (if so IT IS our job to sweep/mop if necessary), materials are put back, snack cart is clean, etc.
What does active supervision mean ?
Active supervision means staff are fully engaged by watching students at all times, moving through the area, scanning for safety issues, interacting with youth, and preventing problems before they happen.
What are some expectations for power hour time and activities?
During Power Hour, staff support homework and academics by actively supervising, encouraging focus, providing help when needed, and maintaining a quiet, respectful learning environment. During activities, staff actively supervise, explain rules, keep students engaged, promote safety and inclusion, and ensure equipment and spaces are used appropriately.
What should you do if a student is running, yelling, and not following directions during an activity?
Stay calm, remind the student of expectations, redirect them to appropriate behavior, provide a warning if needed, and follow behavior steps if the behavior continues.

Can staff have public contact/ communication with students outside of program?

What are the 3 steps to a student receiving a write-up?
A student first receives a verbal warning from staff, then speaks with the Senior Group Lead, followed by the Supervisor. If the behavior continues, a write-up is completed and parents are contacted.
Who is a mandated reporter?
A mandated reporter is any staff member required by law to report suspected child abuse or neglect to the proper authorities immediately when they see it, hear it, or reasonably suspect it.
