Lester

Lester is disloyal to his son.  He is crying because he feels bad about turning Despereaux in, but as he prefers the mouse council over his son, he has no choice.  He finds Despereaux a disgrace to the family.

"Furlough went off to tell his father the terrible, unbelievable news of what he had just seen."  

Furlough betrays his brother.  He turns him in immediately without even investigating or asking Despereaux why he has revealed himself to humans.
