Atmosphere= Air
Biosphere= Living things
Geosphere= Rocks and soil

What should our behavior look like in the cafeteria?
Calm, kind, and respectful. No running, using our manners, cleaning up our messes (even if they're not ours), wiping down our table with a rag.
Can you fish while there is swimming and vice versa?
No! It is a safety issue. We can not swim when there are hooks being thrown into the water. We can not throw hooks into the water when people are swimming/kayaking.
On each trail, the teacher guiding it will stop from time to time to talk about science related information. What should you be doing during this time?
NOT TALKING, looking at/listening to the speaker, and participating when they ask questions.
Mrs. Martin will briefly talk about what plants need to survive. What are the things they need in order to go through photosynthesis?
Water, nutrient-rich soil, carbon dioxide, and sunlight!
Can you leave whenever your cabin is done eating?
No! You will get 2 snacks every time we are in the cafeteria- at the end of the meal. Sometimes, there will be announcements that you need to hear. You have to stay with your sponsor at all times.
The first time we get in the water, Mr. Clayton will come talk to everyone. What should you do while you wait/while he's talking.
Wait patiently and listen when he's talking! Do NOT step a TOE in the water until Mr. Clayton and the lifeguard (Mr. Hart) give the ok!
On Mr. Thomas' trail, he talks about the blending of two environments. What is the word for this?

Ecology= the study of ecosystems
How do trees grow in the cracks of rocks?
What happens to the rock as the tree grows?
If there is soil in the cracks (or dirt that was blew by the wind) and a seed was dropped in that crack, it can grow as long as all of its needs are met (water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide.
As the tree grows, so do its roots. The roots will begin to weather (break apart) the rock.
Once everyone (including adults) have gone through the line, Mr. Jason and his staff will put plates on top of the serving line to show that they are allowing seconds.
What should you do if you notice the inflatable in the water is starting to topple over?
Get off of it!!!

Transpiration= water released by plants through their leaves
What do you do with liquids that you haven't finished?
Dump it into the liquids bucket (next to the trash can). Do NOT throw liquids away in the trash can!
What is the appropriate swimwear at camp?
Everyone has to wear a shirt/shorts when swimming. Everyone has to wear a lifejacket, also.
