The Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR)
This law made it so that you had to emigrate straight to Canada... it was designed to keep Indians out.

This event caused French Canadians to protest and riot during WWI. Four citizens were shot dead by government forces.

Canada had to join WWI, because they were part of this collection of British-connected countries.
