Last week this person assessed a patient in the infusion clinic who had a scheduled appt and a skin rash r/t chemotherapy and could not proceed w/ chemotherapy for that day and the patient had not completed his oral chemo in time to start. Patient was quite confused on what medications to take. This employee spent valuable time with the patient to do a medication reconciliation with the patient.

During the time that I've worked in the office with this employee, I always noticed how he showed sincerity when talking with the Veterans over the phone scheduling appointments. I noticed how he never rushed the veterans when they had questions…he always thoroughly explained things to them. And most importantly, I noticed that before he hung up from talking with the vets, he would say, “We appreciate you.” This definitely shows that this employee demonstrates the I CARE values.
