No, Weatherization has funding for a specific set of repairs/improvements (furnaces, insulation, etc) which pertain to a home's energy efficiency. Every project varies in terms of allowable repairs & expenses. A project must first be energy audited to assess the need. Please see Weatherization for more details.

Does CAPSC provide any special programs during the holidays?

Yes, CAPSC offers holiday baskets during Thanksgiving & Christmas to eligible households who sign up in advance. Please see the Nutrition program for this year's details & deadlines.

Does CAPSC assist families with workforce training?

Yes, some of your CAPSC colleagues staff the TANF work program at Rochester Community Center (for those receiving DHHS cash benefits who are not currently employed) as well as the Career Navigator position housed at NHWorks (Unemployment). NHWorks takes self-referrals, Workplace Success is by TANF referral only.

False, homeless outreach will meet clients within the community or at offices throughout the county if transportation is a barrier.

Does CAPSC's security deposit program have an income guideline?

Yes, Households must not exceed 50% Adjusted Median Income (AMI) for the area. This figure changes annually, however, at this time, a family of 4 could make no more than $47,150/annually in order to qualify. At times, there is limited funding for households deemed over-income.

Are there any documents needed to access summer meals?

No, children 0-18 within Strafford County can present at any summer meals location (site information published just prior to the end of each school year) to receive a free breakfast &/or lunch, no questions asked.

If one site closes, does that mean all the others are automatically closed as well?

Not necessarily, certain programs (Farmington Child Care Center, Workplace Success, NHWorks) may remain open due to state contractual obligations. Please always check WMUR for information as well as contacting your manager. Local area school closures do not necessarily mean an agency or site closure.

True, CAPSC has the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) through Housing & Urban Development (HUD) as well as NH Housing funding through Southwestern Community Services (SCS) which provide limited funding for eligible families to prevent eviction.

Yes, Strafford County residents (Barrington, Dover, Durham, Farmington, Gonic, Lee, Madbury, Middleton, Milton, New Durham, Rollinsford, Rochester, Somersworth, Strafford) can access any of our pantry locations once within a 30 day period.

No, customers must come with a unit in mind (verified by a landlord form) which they have not already moved into in order to be considered for security deposit assistance. Their eligibility will also depend on their budget & ability to repay the requested loan.

No, the senior transportation bus has a set schedule & brings clients to run weekly errands such as grocery shopping.

Does Covered Bridge Manor Senior Housing have a waiting list?

Yes, Covered Bridge Manor (24 independent living units for 62+) has a waiting list that is maintained by Dover Housing. Prospective residents should fill out a Dover Housing Authority application & check the box for "Covered Bridge Manor". The property has a resident services liaison who works for CAPSC.

Are families who are determined over-income for Head Start & Early Head Start unable to access any CAPSC Child & Family Services?

No, there may be limited availability for over-income families in HS & EHS depending on openings. Any families with children who may be eligible can always be interviewed & added to the waiting list. There are also home visiting programs available to eligible families.

No, clients must first apply for benefits with the Department of Health & Human Services (also at RCC) in order to be referred to the program, provided they are eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits.

Can a client receive Neighbor Helping Neighbor energy assistance every year?

No, clients can only receive help from Neighbor Helping Neighbor once every 2 years. Additionally, if they received fuel assistance within that period, they do not qualify. Neighbor Helping Neighbor is for eligible clients facing metered utility disconnects (i.e. Electric & Natural Gas).
