How do you get involved on campus?
There are so many opportunities for students here! In the fall, we host a involvement fair where students can walk around and get signed up for various clubs. A lot of the clubs here are low commitment, show up as you please!
Also, each week OSEB sends out an email with the events happening for that week!
A student in your color group asks about the dining hall food. How would you describe it to them?
There are always lot of options. Even picky eaters can find something to eat. With its all you-can-eat style, you can always get something new if you do not like what is on your plate.
This resource is found on the second floor of the stadium and is a great place for students to go if they are feeling ill or are struggling emotionally

They have vehicles to get to us quickly, and can help in a number of scenarios. We also have a strong relationship with NPD, who can provide additional assistance if needed.

We are loosely affiliated with the United Methodist Church and we have a lot of faith based organizations on campus (focus, voices of praise, CRU, Catholic Cardinals, FCA, etc)!

Help you throughout your time at NCC with academic planning. Meet with them to make sure you take the right classes for your major/minor. They also can be accountability buddies or do academic coaching.

How do you find on campus jobs? What types are available?
On campus jobs are posted on a website called peopleadmin throughout the school year. Also, paraprofessional roles like RAs or CTLs advertise when their positions are posted. There are many jobs available ranging in types. Some popular ones are front desk workers for various offices or paraprofessional roles.
A student is visibly upset after attending their advising session at orientation. You ask them what is wrong and they say that they are very nervous about handling the course load of college classes. How would you reassure them it will be okay?
Validate their emotions! Change can be scary and adapting to a new lifestyle is chaotic. Remind them of all the resources here (tutoring, success coaches, FYMs) and that it will be okay!

1. Wentz Science Center: home to our undergraduate stem offices (Computer Science, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Etc)
2. Wentz Concert Hall & Fine Arts Center: choir concerts, orchestra concerts, and other arts-related events! Also houses Madden, which is a black box theatre on campus.
3. Wentz Health Science & Engineering: Home to graduate programs (DPT, MOT, etc), Undergrad students in health science, exercise science, or engineering may use the spaces too.

What are some commuter friendly spaces on campus?
almost every building has a microwave so students who commute can heat up their lunch, but BOHO basement is a specific commuter lounge.
The library and upper WAC are also common spaces for commuters to gO!
