What is a cover letter?

A cover letter is a letter that expresses your interest in a particular job. A cover letter HIGHLIGHTS the main points of your resume. It is a supplement to your resume.

1 page for most young people, 2 pages for professionals or academics who have worked for many years.

What is a reference?

A reference is a person who is willing to give you a recommendation for a job to a potential employer. 

Always ask a reference to agree to speak on your behalf before sharing their contact information with the potential employer.

15 minutes before the scheduled interview.
(Also try getting to the site in the days before the interview to make sure you know the route and can anticipate challenges.)
