What is the externship site dismissal policy?
If a student is dismissed from an externship site for reasons such as, inappropriate behavior, excessive tardiness, excessive attendance issues, professional appearance, not following site rules and policies, or lack of skills, the student is required to meet with Career Services/Externship Coordinator and the Executive Director and Director of Education to discuss the issues and an action plan for moving forward in the program.
A student may be required to complete refresher skills or soft skills training before returning to an externship site. Any time taken for refresher skills or soft skills training on the campus, will not be included in the externship hours to be completed.
If a student is dismissed from a site for stealing, fighting, or any illegal or other prohibited action, as determined by the College or the Site in their sole discretion, the student will be immediately terminated from the program and from the College.
If a student is dismissed from 2 sites for reasons such as, inappropriate behavior, excessive tardiness, excessive attendance, professional appearance, not following site rules and policies, lack of skills, or any other unacceptable action, as determined by the site and college, the student will be immediately terminated from the program and from the College.
