What is CHAMP?

Person who will develop communication/marketing plan, manage all social media outlets, develop creative avenues to highlight and share the work of service-learning within the APU community

What is a Help Wanted Sign?
An annual event (Nov) for AUSD 8th grade students to expose students to a variety of options of college majors, in collaboration with First Year Seminar & Citrus College.
What is Major’s Fair?
A database that is used to capture service-learning course details & credits that get uploaded to student accounts.
What is Filemaker?
Located in the Mdrive under Course Resources -> SL Courses
What are Course Folders?
Final procedures to thank professors, confirm student participation and course credits, and wrap up the course before you leave
What is Closing Out Courses?
It is a document created to help bridge the communication gap between SLAs and Supervisors. It is a detailed outline of expectations, descriptions of projects, contact info, and important dates. Use this as a way to help you navigate through your individual courses and projects.
What is a Course Guide?
A SOCW310 (Fall) and SOCW311 (Spring) service-learning course that takes place throughout the entire school year.
What is Cougar Pals?
A 10-15 min presentation in front of the class for a service-learning course
What is an orientation?
The online timecard (timekeeping.apu.edu) that can be accessed by logging in with each person’s own APU login.

Pre-written, instant/convenient responses that should be used when sending out standard procedure emails to APU student, faculty, and community partners
What is a Canned Response?
Person that will collaborate with others on special events, manage logistical needs and communication, assign tasks to volunteers/staff, collect and compile feedback
What is Service Learning Advocate Event Planning Intern?
Shared drive for the CASL department where all files need to be organized and stored

An opportunity for CASL Staff, APU Professors and Faculty, and Community Partners to meet together in one place.

An unpaid, off-campus work arrangement that you can get service-learning credit for

Verbally expresses ideas/thoughts clearly and completely

Person that will design and compose graphic materials that tell the story of service-learning, collect information and create visually-engaging publications for internal and external distribution
