Why did Jesus give us the Sacrament of Reconciliation?
Jesus gave us Reconciliation so that we can receive God's forgiveness, be reconciled with Him and the Church, and begin again with a renewed heart.
Why is the Eucharist called the “source and summit” of Christian life?
It is called the source and summit because the Eucharist gives us spiritual strength and brings us into the deepest communion with Christ. It is at the center of Catholic worship.
Why do Catholics stand, sit, and kneel during Mass?
These different postures are ways of showing respect, worship, attention, and prayer. For example, Catholics kneel during certain parts of the Eucharistic Prayer as an act of reverence.
Why should Catholics pray?
Prayer is our relationship and communication with God. Through prayer, we praise God, thank Him, ask for forgiveness, ask for help, and listen for His guidance.

To worship God, hear His Word, receive the Eucharist, and join together as a community of faith.
What should we do before receiving Holy Communion?
We should examine our conscience, be properly disposed to receive Communion, observe the Eucharistic fast, and be free from mortal sin. A person conscious of mortal sin should receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before receiving Communion.
When did Jesus give us the Eucharist?
The Last Supper with His Apostles. He took bread and wine, gave thanks, and gave them to His disciples.
What happens during the Liturgy of the Eucharist?
The bread and wine are brought to the altar. During the Eucharistic Prayer, through the power of the Holy Spirit and the words of Christ, they become the Body and Blood of Christ.
How can the Eucharist change the way we treat other people?
The Eucharist unites us with Jesus and reminds us of His self-giving love. Because Jesus gives Himself to us, we are called to become more loving, forgiving, generous, and willing to serve others.

Why is forgiveness important for Catholics?
God calls us to forgive others because He has forgiven us. Forgiveness does not mean pretending that something wrong never happened; it means choosing not to hold onto hatred or revenge and trusting God with our pain.

What is the difference between venial and mortal sin?
Venial sin weakens our relationship with God but does not destroy it. Mortal sin seriously breaks our relationship with God and requires grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate consent.

In John 6:51, Jesus says, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.” Jesus teaches that He gives Himself to us as spiritual food.
