Fifty days after Jesus’ Resurrection, the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles while they were in a locked room and transformed fearful apostles into courageous witnesses to Christ. It was the birthday of the church, and the Holy Spirit is the soul of the church, reminded her of her mission, calling people into service and sending them the necessary gifts.
