What is a critique?
Calm, trust, faith, power
What does blue mean?
Controls the level of transparency in an image.
What is opacity?
Visual consistency throughout multiple designs.
What is repetition?
Two colors that are opposite of each other on the color wheel.
What are complementary colors?
Hunger, love, urgency, anger
What does red mean?
Makes an image smaller by dragging in the side or corner markers.
What is cropping?
Creates visual organization--helps the viewer know what to look at first.
What is hierarchy?
A low-opacity image place in the background behind text.
What is a watermark?
Nature, money, soothing, jealousy
What does green mean?
Another term for letter spacing.
What is kerning?
Type of balance when design elements on one side are stronger than the other.
What is balance with tension?
How a person or company promotes and ties themselves to their product--usually with a logo.
What is branding?
Happy, energy, attention, warmth
What does yellow mean?
The code for a color on a web-based design program--usually a combination of letters and numbers followed by #.
What is a hex code?
Type of balance created when the weight of design elements on both halves of the pane is even.
What is balance with symmetry?
The dimensions of a standard piece of paper.

What does purple mean?
Can be done by selecting multiple objects in a design while pressing Shift.
What is grouping?
An effective way to create emphasis; often by having two opposite elements. Example: bright text on dark background.
What is contrast?
