What kind of cell is this? How do you know?

Plant cell. It has a cell wall, central vacuole, and chloroplast.

100

How many minutes do you have to get to each class period?

4 minutes

200

Which variable do experimenters change in order to test their hypothesis?

Independent Variable

200

How are unicellular organisms different from multicellular organisms?

unicellular organisms only have one cell, multicellular organisms have many cells.

200

What is considered "the most complex" in levels of organization?

Organism

200

Describe the function of the Vacuole

Stores water and other products of the cell

200

How many letters are in the alphabet?

26

300

In a valid experiment, what variable must stay the same and cannot change during the experiment?

Constant Variable

300

Which part of the cell theory does the photo represent?

Cells are the basic units of life.

300

What makes up molecules?

when two or more atoms combine

300

Describe the function of Mitochondria

Makes energy for the cell activities

300

Who was the first president of the United states?

George Washington

experiment

400

Describe each part of the cell theory

All living things are made up of one or more cells.

The cell is the structural and functional unit of all living things.

Cells come from pre-existing cells

400

What makes up the structure of the atom?

protons, neutrons, electrons.

400

What is the nickname for the nucleus?

"The brain"

400

Who is this?

Rod Wave

500

In the Come Fly With Me Experiment we measured the distance of the paper plane traveled.  The distance traveled reflected which variable?

Dependent Variable

500

Which part of the cell theory is demonstrated in the picture?

Cells arise from preexisting cells

500

List the levels of organizations from least to most complex.

Atom, Molecules, Cells, Tissues, Organs, Organ systems, Organisms

500

Why do animal cells not need a cell wall?

Animal cells do not have cell walls because they do not need them. Cell walls, which are found in plant cells, maintain cell shape, almost as if each cell has its own exoskeleton. This rigidity allows plants to stand upright without the need for bones
