What is Potential New Member?

A term used to refer to a member of a sorority who has accepted a bid but has not participated in the initiation ceremony. This period is when they get to know the members of the chapter, learn history and symbolism, and develop an understanding for the ideas and principles of the organization.

Incorrectly referred to as "Suiciding", this is the term used when a Potential New Member intentionally places only one organization on her Preference Card.
What is "Single Intentional Preference"?

A ceremonial event, unique to each organization, that plays out the ideals and principles of that organization. They are the same for every chapter of the same sorority, and are usually the time when students take an oath to uphold the values of that organization.

This is a national Greek Leadership honor society, but has no governing power or responsibility for the fraternities and sororities. To be eligible for membership, students must be juniors or seniors and meet a pre-determined GPA requirement as well as exhibit leadership skills and involvement.
