YES. You are unlikely to pass our 10 grades reading quizzes without having a copy of the book.
How do I prepare for a chapter session?
Read the assigned chapter from the textbook, take notes on what stands out to you, and take the chapter quiz.
What do I do if I must miss a class?
Alert Dr. Jones before (or immediately after in case of emergency), review class session slides, get notes from a classmate, and make up any missed work.
How many exams do we have this semester?
We will have two exams - one on Thursday, October 5 and the other on Tuesday, December 5. Each exam represents 15% of your grade.
What do I do if I have a question about an assignment?
Check the syllabus and D2L, and ask a classmate. If that doesn’t help, ask Dr. Jones.

How do I prepare for a case session?
Read and take notes on the case, complete the case assignment (cases 2 and 3)
Is food permitted in class?
Covered beverages and discrete snacks are permitted in class. No meals in class.
When are quizzes due?
The quiz for each textbook chapter must be completed by 1159 the night before the corresponding class session.
How do I contact Dr. Jones?
Contact Dr. Jones via email, or via Teams (during business hours). You may text me about time-sensitive, urgent issues.

How do I prepare for a speaker session?
Read the articles assigned by the speaker, post speaker question(s) on D2L (optional).

Share what you discovered in class readings, respond to others’ insights, apply insights to your real-world experience.
What is the Insights Leader?
The insights leader tees up the class discussion by sharing a passage from the reading that stood out for them, describing an insight associated with that passage, and making a connection to their own experience.
How does Dr. Jones communicate with the class?
All class communications will be issued via D2L. Please either enable notifications or check frequently. Time-sensitive issues may be addressed vi email.

How do I prepare for an exam review session?
Review slides and reading/class notes, prepare two sample questions to share with the class.
What if I don’t submit my case assignment on time?
Case assignments are intended to help you prepare for our class discussion. Late submissions are accepted only in exceptional circumstances.

Mondays and Wednesdays from 0830-1100.
How are mobile technologies used in class?
Laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices are not permitted in class except as directed for in-class activities.
What are the purpose of and the deliverables for the team project?
The purpose of the team project is to apply an HRM principle from class to a situation facing a real-life organization. Deliverables include a project plan, presentation slides, and a self-assessment.
