Cultural Assimilation
The process by which a minority group or culture comes to resemble a society's majority group or assume their values and behaviors, often losing their original cultural identity in the process

Holistic Care
An approach to healthcare that treats the "whole person"—mind, body, and spirit—rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease.
Monotheist
A person who believes in only one god (e.g., Christianity, Islam, Judaism)
Cultural Diversity
The existence of a variety of cultural or ethnic groups within a society.
Nuclear Family
A family group consisting of two parents and their children (the "traditional" core unit).
Prejudice
A preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience; literally "pre-judging."
Polytheist
A person who believes in or worships more than one god (e.g., ancient Greek or Roman religions).
Ethnicity
A social group that shares a common and distinctive culture, religion, language, or heritage (e.g., Hispanic, Han Chinese).
Extended Family
A family that extends beyond the nuclear family, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives, who all live nearby or in one household.
Stereotyping
Overgeneralized belief about a particular category of people; assuming all members of a group act or think the same way.
Religion

Race
A category of humankind that shares certain distinctive physical traits (like skin color or hair texture). Note: Modern science views race more as a social construct than a biological one
Matriarchal
A social system or family headed by a female or the mother.
Ethnocentric
Evaluating other peoples and cultures according to the standards of one's own culture; often believing one's own culture is superior.
