abdominal cavity
is divided into an upper part and a lower part. The upper abdominal cavity contains the stomach, small intestine, most of the large intestine, appendix, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen.

body parts in front of the plane, or on the front of the body, are called ventral or anterior.

body parts on the back of the body are called dorsal or posterior.

mouth, for the teeth and tongue.
Lateral
body parts away from the midline are called lateral.

for the eyes

for the nose structures.

body parts above other parts are termed superior.

divides the body into a front section and a back section.

is located in the chest and contains the esophagus, trachea, bronchi, lungs, heart, and large blood vessels.
Definition of midsagittal (median) plane?
If a sagittal plane runs down the midline of the body and divides the body into equal halves, it is called a midsagittal or median plane.
