What is PASS?
Completed on admission, change in status, transfer, and every 8 hours.
What is a skin assessment?
A bath, a peanut butter sandwich, a Pepsi, a call home, away from the milieu, pain medication, a warm blanket, music, walking, and a bathroom trip.
What are prior interventions to a restraint?
History of falls, secondary diagnoses, ambulatory aids, IVs, Gait, and mental status.
What is the Morse Fall Scale?
A safe distance of a bumblebee patient.
What is an arm's length?
Rescue, Alert, Contain, Extinguish
What is RACE?
Done within 8 hours.
What is the skin check and assessment?
Progressing, not progressing, goal completed, etc.
What are care plans?
Alarms when a person moves.
What is a bed or chair alarm?
Injury, near-miss, witnessing an unsafe practice, potential injury, or a problem.
What is a Midas?
Must be started within 8 hours of admission, JC wants to see this and is charted on twice a day.
What is a Treatment Plan?
Breast, abdominal, groin, and buttock folds.
What are skin folds?
Requires an RN to call the MD first.
What is a restraint order?
Bipolar, depression, frailty, and Parkinsons
What diagnoses have increased risks for falls?
Aware of your environment.
What is situational awareness?
P. Home page, P. pulse, Sharepoint page for temperature, cough, and other symptoms and signs.
What is covid information?
Redden skin or wounds require all eyes.
What are nurses and techs?
Prior interventions/nursing restraint note, order, documentation every 2 hours, notification of family, care plan, documentation of the care plan, and Midas.
What are the requirements for documentation
Psychotics, PRNs, cardiac meds, diuretics

Checking pockets, suitcases, and plastic bags
