He printed a newspaper called the New York Weekly Journal. This journal criticized the governor. He was arrested and tried and was found not guilty. He became the symbol of the freedom of the press.

What is the difference between an indentured servant and a slave?

Indentured Servant- someone who wanted to come to the colonies but did not have any money, thus someone else paid for their trip and in return that person had to work for that person for around 5 years. After that time the person was free. A slave was bought and they were owned by the purchaser, much like property.
