Veterinary Assistant

A Certified Veterinary Assistant is an assistant who has also passed the CVA exam through American Allied Health

A veterinary facility that treats companion animals as well as livestock and horses. Likely will have a large animal facility on site as well as utilizing a mobile unit

Mixed Practice

Used when a typical exam room environment is not desired, such as discussing a complex treatment plan or a euthanasia procedure. Typically will have more comfortable seating and be in a quieter area of the hospital.

The Middle

Also called a specialty practice, this will employ veterinarians in specializations such as orthopedics, oncology, internal medicine, or surgery. 

Utilized when care or diagnostics are needed beyond the capabilities of a companion animal practice

Includes radiology, surgery, treatment spaces, kennels, and isolation wards. Do not call it "The Back"
