What is a syllabus?
A calculation of grades earned in courses taken. It is calculated by assigning a numerical value to letter grades of courses taken. It is the total numerical value earned, divided by credit hours attempted.
What is Grade Point Average?
A course that is not a requirement for graduation based on a chosen curriculum, but often counts as credits toward graduation.

Can refer to you removing yourself from a course (also known as drop), a semester or term, or the university entirely.

What is a counselor?
A collection of academic policies, procedures, curriculums, and course descriptions within the college or university. You are assigned a year for this when you begin a program, for which they must follow guidelines to achieve your degree or certificate.

GPA for a given semester or term.

Your primary field of study and what you venture to achieve a degree in.
What is a major?
A specialization most commonly within a major.
What is a concentration?
Office who manages the university catalog, transcripts, credit inquiries such as transfer, the academic calendar, and others.

GPA for courses taken at a given college or university.
What is College or University GPA?
The collection of required classes for a major, minor, program, etc. Can also refer to what will be covered in a specific course.
What is curriculum?
Times during the week set aside by faculty to meet with you individually.
What are office hours?
A secondary field of study, with fewer required credit hours than a major.
What is a minor?
Sometimes known as liberal studies or core curriculum, predetermined categories of classes designed to give all undergraduates a well-rounded education outside of their program of study.
