They are both represent mockingbirds. They both are innocent people who are taken advantage of. Tom was charged for a crime he did not commit and Boo is seen as a monster just because he doesn't like to leave the house.

Mockingbirds are harmless and kind creatures that only give us beautiful music to listen to, because they are so harmless it twould be a sin to kill them. in the "To Kill a Mockingbird" Tom Robinson has brought no harm to anyone but gets blamed for rape when he was trying to help her fix a door and get something off a high shelf.
