Aboriginals were the people who originally inhabited BNA before the Europeans arrived. They were treated very poorly by the new settlers who had racist attitudes towards them. Aboriginals were affected in several ways including the following: Loss of land European settlers took over the land where Aboriginals lived. They were forced to live on land away from rivers with poor soil. Drop in population Many Aboriginals died from mal-nutrition and disease, or were killed by the Europeans. Economic Impact Aboriginals began to work in the timber and fishing industries. They also became involved in the fur trade.
