Well, I know that there are 60 minutes in one hour. So I would first add my minutes together:
50 + 15 = 65.
I know that this is worth at least one hour. So now it is 9 oclock with extra minutes left.
65-60 = 5
So it is 9:05
Samantha has 325 marbles. She buys 175 more marbles and gives 60 marbles to her friend. How many marbles does Samantha have now?
A classroom has 18 desks. The teacher buys 6 more desks, and each desk has 4 legs. How many desk legs are there in total?
1. Add: 18+6=24 desks.
2. Multiply: 24×4=96 legs.
Liam has 32 toy cars. His friend gives him 8 more toy cars. If Liam organizes the cars into groups of 5, how many groups can he make?

2. Add the one-time set up fee:

Rory has a 21-inch-long ribbon. He divides the ribbon into 3 equal parts. Then, he trims one of the pieces, leaving it 3 inches long. How much ribbon did Rory cut from that piece?
1. Find the length of each piece after separating into 3 pieces:
21÷3=7
2. Determine how much was cut:
7 - 3 = 4
So, 4 inches were cut from the piece of ribbon.

What is the area of her garden?
8 x 2 = 16.

A photographer is taking a picture of the 41 members of the school band. There are 5 rows with 7 members in each row. How many members are not in rows?

How do you find the perimeter of a shape?
For example, if there is a rectangle that is 5 feet long and 3 feet tall, how would I find the perimeter?
You count up all of the sides and add them together.
5 + 5 (remember rectangle lengths are the same amount) = 10
and
3 + 3 (remember, the rectangle height will also be the same amount) = 6
So our perimeter will be how long the sides are all together, 6 + 10 = 16.
