Why are we playing jeopardy?
This jeopardy game is to practice our skills and knowledge on our eight assignments throughout our time with ECI 406. Each question and answer is specific to me and what I have learned.
What is a classroom experience for assessment?
In my future classroom, I will offer different types of assessments that will allow for students to showcase their strengths for the content they have learned.
What are some problems with assigning open-ended projects?
Sometimes students couldchoose a topic that will not work with the standard. Some students could find it confusing.
What are three supporting details for professional growth?
Professional growth allows for the teacher to reflect on their practices, recognize their strengths, and create new learning opportunities for themselves and their students. Reflecting as a teacher is important to understand what you do affects your students, and you want to make sure you are being productive with your teaching. Teachers need to take responsibility for their professional growth as well as offering it to their students.
What lessons or activities would you use in your future class?
Allowing students different options for assessments is something I will do in my future class. It is important that students are given the choice to showcase their work and their strengths.
Why is teaching science important in elementary school?
Science allows students to conduct experiments, showcase their individuality, and give them real world experiences.

What is the main idea of differentiation?
Differentiation allows for students to be successful by teaching to the student’sstrengths.
What is a personal connection to professional growth?
I think it is important that teachers understand the importance of professional growth because it contributes to their personal growth. Throughout my time with the Flagstaff Unified School District I have attended two different professional growth conferences that were very informative and helpful to me as a new member to the district.
What activities stuck out to you from ECI 406?
Creating the weather board was so much fun and allowed for the class to have a visual for the weather and the changes throughout the weeks.
What lab did you conduct for ECI 406?
My group and I conducted the Pasta Paleontology which was super fun and engaging for the students.
What are three supporting details for assessment?
The individual variability among students needs to be consideredwhen planning assessments. Having different types of assessments including multiplechoice tests, projects, essays, etc. is important for student success. It is important toassess students for their growth and development, but assessments can be more usefuldepending on the subject and the student.
What is a classroom experience for differentiation?
In my practicum at Cromer, I did stations for my lesson on geography which allowed for differentiation for each group and it worked well.

The main idea of this article is discussing professional growth and why it is important for teachers for themselves and their students.
Why is consistency important in the educational setting?
Consistent schedules allow for students to understand what is expected for class each day so they can follow along without being confused.
What was your favorite reading from this class?
My favorite reading from this class was the Differentiation article. I enjoyed learning more about this and I am excited to use these ideas in my future class.
What differences exist between the different assessments?
There is multiple choicewhich focuses on test taking skills, memorization, and knowledge. There are projectswhere students create something that shows their understanding. There are essayswhere students write about a topic that showcases their knowledge
What are three supporting details for differentiation?
Creating learning stations, interviewing students, journaling, or running literaturecircles are ways to include differentiation. Using these differentiation strategies will allow students tolearn from their strengths, and understand that everyone learns differently. Using these differentstrategies will allow the teacher to understand what works best for each student
What changes to support teachers would you recommend?
It is important for all aspects to support each other in school. I would recommend having open conversations within the school community so everyone feels supported and can ask for help if needed.
What stuck out to you the most from ECI 406?
Science can be fun!! It is important to engage the students in the science content so they are excited for class and learn!
What is your biggest take away from this class?
Building relationships with the students is very important and will allow the class to feel comfortable and excited to learn everyday.
How would you deal with a student not wanting to present for an assessment?
If astudent decided they didnt want to present I could give them an alternative with the othertypes of assessment. They could choose to take a test, write an essay, or they could justpresent it to me. There are many modifications that can be made to help any student.
What questions would you ask for journaling?
Summarize key points they have learned, attemptto answer or make sense of lingering questions, explaining real-life scenarios, or illustrating newconcepts.
How would this information be useful if you had a professional development conference?
This information is helpful to all new teachers to understand the importance of reflection, ethics, and support when it comes to professional development. It is also helpful because as a teacher, PD is almost always mandatory.
What are you going to miss about this class the most?
Curt! He has been an amazing professor and taught me many life lessons that I will always remember!
