  • Periodically check for air leaks and note any tidaling.
  • No dependent loops of drainage tubing.
  • Coil the tubing loosely so it does not interfere with the movements of the pt. (look for clots or kinks in tubing) May milk tube if a visible clot in drainage tubing is present
