nature

social- emotional development
mental and social, (making friends, interactions, emotions)
three examples of guidelines when directly observing
use descriptive language, do not use bias, only facts, and make sure you are respectful of their privacy
environmental influence on child
example bronfenbrenner quote
a child who is struggling in school starts improving their grades
Screens
The topic about screens that was really interesting to me was how it can encourage unhealthy eating. I never knew that the media could influence on what you want to eat, and it leads me to think about what else is the media influencing young children?
example of both
a child with tall genes may not be tall because they are lacking food or nutrition
to identify needs, watch for behavioral concerns, monitor development and health
Stress
Stress can affect development in many ways. If a child is abused, they can become hyper alert everywhere, and it can cause them to lose social interactions and make behavior issues. However, stress can be good by teaching problem solving and motivating children, but many times stress can disrupt natural development.
physical development
biological growth (height)
direct observation
watching a childs behavior and interactions in their natural environment
intellectual development
mental growth, (thinking, learning)
indirect observation
gathering information on a child's actions and interactions without directly watching them
