Jesus said before his crucifixion that after three days He would rise from the dead to prove He has the power over death. The Pharisees, Jewish leaders, thought Jesus’s followers might steal the body to make it look like Jesus rose from the dead so they asked Pilate, the Roman governor, to secure Jesus’s tomb.
