What is Kiwanis? How are they related to Circle K?
Kiwanis clubs, located in 80 nations, help their communities in countless ways. Each community’s needs are different—so each Kiwanis club is different. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things happen. Founded in 1915 CKI is a sponsored program of Kiwanis

Circle K International: College Key Club International: High School Builders Club: Junior High School K-Kids: Elementary. Teaches the value of helping others through participation in community service Aktion Club: Adults with Disabilities Kiwanis Terrific Kids: Promotes character development and good citizenship Thoughtful Enthusiastic Respectful Responsible Inclusive Friendly Inquisitive Capable Bring Up Grades: provide recognition to students who raise grades and maintain them from one grading period to the next All branches of the Kiwanis family work to accomplish the same goals and objectives.

Works in more than 190 countries and territories to improve the lives of children—helping children meet their basic needs and expanding their opportunities to reach their full potential. Across the globe, wherever vulnerable children are struggling to survive, UNICEF is there with medicine, vaccines, clean water, nutrition and educational opportunities.

Who are our Faculty and Kiwanis Advisors? What do they do for our club?

Faculty Advisor: Daardi Mixon.

Kiwanis Advisor: Also Daardi. Her role is to be the liaison between the sponsoring Kiwanis club and our club.

What is the CKI Vision?
To be the leading global community-service organization on college and university campuses that enriches the world one member, one child and one community at a time.

What year was CKI established?
1936: establishes a CKI house that could be rented to young men in need of assistance to attend college.

What is LSSP?
Large Scale Service Project. LSSP is an opportunity for Circle K members to give back to the host city of the International convention.

What is March of Dimes?
Every day 1 in 8 babies born in the U.S. arrive too soon. Circle K members help by raising funds annually for March of Dimes programs to help prevent prematurity. The March of Dimes currently focuses on raising awareness of prematurity and reducing the rate of premature births. CKI members collect money to support the March of Dimes and participate in the annual March for Babies, which usually happens in late April.

Who is our newly elected District Governor?

What are 2 positions of the Board? What do these positions do?

President: It’s under the Presidents leadership that others are enabled to do the tasks assigned and be enthusiastic to motivate the club to volunteer. 

VP: Responsible for the club in the absences of the club president and provides assistant to the other board members. Organizes committees. 

Secretary: Responsible for the management of all the clubs records. 

Treasurer: Money! 

Historian: Promotes our club with social media updates. Shows everyone the service we are doing and encourages members to get more involved.
