Tybalt Capulet hated Romeo Montague because Romeo was from a rival family. Romeo also snuck into the Capulet family party in the beginning of the play, which angered Tybalt. Romeo wanted to make peace with Tybalt since he married Tybalt's cousin (Juliet), but Romeo ended up killing Tybalt.
