Why was Luke not able to marry Jocelyn? (4 or more sentences)

Luke was not able to marry Jocelyn because she did not want to be a part of the shadow hunter world anymore. If she would marry Luke, she would have to expose herself and her baby to the dangers of this world since Luke was in a werewolf pack. Luke would not be able to just leave his pack. They needed him, so Jocelyn left Luke and tried to lead a normal, mundane life without him.

Valentine wants the Mortal Cup to destroy the Clave. He thinks that the Clave is corrupt and needs to be rebuilt. To do this, Valentine will use the Cup to create more shadow hunters. These shadow hunters will be a part of his army to help take down the Clave.

Why was Renwick's Valentine's hideout? ( 3 or more sentences)

Renwick's was an old hospital that one of Valentine's friends owned. Valentine like it because it was free for him to use whenever he wanted and was big enough to hold an army. It was also a place nobody ever went near.

What type of conflict is presented when Valentine can't get the Mortal Cup? Why? (3 or more sentences)

Person versus person because the Silent Brothers were protecting it. They were the only ones who knew where the Cup was. When Valentine finally figured out where it was, the Silent Brothers defeated Valentine so he didn't get the cup. For the time being.

Why can't Clary use a stele like other shadow hunters? (3 or mroe sentences)

Clary was never trained to be a shadow hunter since her mother didn't bring her up in that world. Even though Clary has the blood of a shadow hunter, she still needs to train. Without training, she is technically no better than a mundane and can't use shadow hunter weapons.
