Basics of Civil Law
Civil Law is also called this, because it deals with matters between people or parties, and not offences against society.
What is Private Law?
A tort is a civil “wrong” that usually happens because someone was this.

This tribunal can help people with problems between renters and landlords.
What is the Landlord and Tenant Board?
Unlike criminal court, Civil Law cases are decided based on this standard of proof.
What is a balance of probabilities?
If someone punches you and gets charged criminally, you can also sue them in civil court for this tort.
