Entering the Classroom
What should you do BEFORE you come into the classroom each morning?
Get breakfast, go to your locker, and take out your snack and water bottle.
Ms. Webb has explained the directions for an activity, but you don't understand. What should you do?
Raise your hand or ask a table mate. Do not sit there and do nothing!
You ask to borrow someone's pencil (or anything that is theirs) and after a while, they ask for it back. What should you do?
Give them back their materials and say thank you for them letting you borrow their things.
Remember: It takes a friend to have friends!
Where do your materials belong when you are not using them?
It is time to clean up breakfast and move into our morning meeting. What do you need to do to make sure you are ready?
Clean up breakfast, wipe down table, wash hands, check floor for trash, and sit in your seat quietly.
You have something super important to tell Ms. Webb when you get to school, but she is talking with another student or teacher. What should you do?
Keep following our morning routine until she is available, then go see her.
The class is working on an activity, and you have finished early. What should you do?
Turn in your assignment and choose an early finisher activity. You may NOT disrupt others from learning!
It is time to walk in the hallway. What should our line look like?
Everyone is in a straight line, hands by our side, voice level 0. Eyes forward and paying attention to the person in front of you!
Where can you find papers that Ms. Webb has returned to you?
In the wooden mailbox organizer next to the window. Your mail is in your number spot.
We are coming inside from recess. How should you enter the classroom?
Walking feet, get a drink of water, and sit in your seat quietly. It is time for writing!
You have a cell phone, backpack, and snack. Where does everything go?
Cell phone and backpack go in your locker. Snack and water bottle go next to the sink.
P.S. Phones should be POWERED OFF.
Your friend asks you to help them understand the directions, but you don't understand either. What should you do?
1. Check the board
2. Ask another table mate
3. Ask Ms. Webb
Do not sit there and do nothing!
Ms. Webb hands out homework on Mondays and tells you that it is due on FRIDAY MORNING. What should you do?
Put homework in my red folder, write on my calendar that homework is due on FRIDAY and make sure my name is on it.
It is indoor recess. You have chosen to play with one of Ms. Webb's STEM bins. How should you use them?
Take the entire bin that you want to use to your table. Use pieces appropriately and make sure ALL pieces go back in the correct bin after you are done.
You hear the whistle for the end of recess. What should you do?
Stop what you are doing IMMEDIATELY and walk to our line spot.
You came into the classroom, but forgot something in the hallway. What should you do?
Ask Ms. Webb before leaving the classroom.
It is time for UA, lunch, or recess. Ms. Webb calls you to line up. What should you do? What voice level should you be?
Stand up, push in your chair, and line up. Voice Level 0 in line and in the hallway!
You have lost your copy of an assignment. What should you do?
Check the organizer hanging next to the sink and get an extra copy.
Keeping track of your materials is YOUR responsibility!
You have done work on your iPad and it is time to put it away. Where does it go?
Your iPad belongs in your iPad cart spot and should be plugged in.
It is YOUR responsibility to make sure your iPad is charged!
You forgot your water bottle outside at recess. What should you do?
Tell Ms. Webb and collect it at lost and found.
Your best friend is in another class and just came down the hallway. You are in the middle of your morning routine. What should you do?
Wave hello and continue your morning routine. You will see them at recess!
It is the end of the day. Ms. Webb calls you to pack up. What needs to be done before secret student?
Everyone needs to:
1. Check their mailbox and put all materials away.
2. Be seated with their backpack and water bottle.
3. Throw away any trash and wipe down tables.
What is the most important thing to make sure is on your paper before you turn it in?
Your name AND number!
Ms. Webb WILL throw your paper in the trash if it does not have a name!
You have borrowed one of Ms. Webb's books from the library and need to return it. Where should it go?
In the same bin that you took it out of. You should also make sure to sign your book in and out.
We are in the middle of a lesson, but you need to go to the restroom. What should you do?
Wait for Ms. Webb to finish giving directions and explaining the lesson, then go quietly using our hand signal. Make sure to sign out!
