When can I use the bathroom?

During recess (BEFORE the first bell!), or when the teacher is NOT teaching (must use a star on the bathroom chart).

100

What do I do when I enter the classroom every morning?

Unpack your backpack, do your attendance, turn in homework, and put your backpack outside on a hook.
100

What do I do when the 1st recess bell rings?

Line up quietly! DO NOT go to the bathroom or get water.

100

What do I do if I don’t understand how to do an assignment?

Reread the directions, ask your neighbor for help, then ask the teacher for help.

200

How do I know if Ms. Z wants the class to be quiet? (Name 2 ways)

She does an attention-getter (3-2-1 countdown, call and response, etc), or if she is standing in front of the class quietly.

200

What do I do if I need to sharpen my pencil?

If the teacher is teaching, put 1 finger in the air and wait for permission. If the teacher is not teaching, you may quietly go to the sharpener.

200

What should I have on my desk at the beginning of every class?

Writing journal, silent reading book, pencil bag or pencil, and water bottle.

200

What's the right way to move around campus as a class?

In a single file line, with safe hands and feet, no shouting.

What happens first if I chose to break a classroom expectation?

Ms. Z will check in with you and have a short conversation to review expectations and discuss what you can do differently next time.

300

When is it OK to interrupt the teacher?

When there is an emergency!

300

Where do my binder and planner go?

In your cubby or on your desk.

300

What should I do to be ready for recess or lunch?

Clean up the floor around you and your desk and stand quietly behind your desk.

300

How do I act in the hallway?

Walk always (NO RUNNING EVER!), voices are off.

300

What happens the second time I chose to break a classroom expectation?

You will have a consequence like owing recess time or losing a privilege.

400

Being aware helps maintain a respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.

400

What should I do if I finish my work early?

Silent read or work on unfinished work.

400

When is homework due, and can it be turned in late?

Homework is typically due on Friday unless Ms. Z assigns another due date. Late work will be accepted before the trimester ends, however you will lose points.

400

How do I act in the lunchroom?

Restaurant- level voices (only those close to you can hear you), clean up after yourself, raise a hand to leave the table, wait quietly to be dismissed.
